Geddy Lee Hits the Interview Trail Ahead of the Release of his Big Beautiful Book of Bass

With the release of his book fast approaching, December 18th to be exact, Geddy Lee has been busy making the interview rounds to discuss his inaugural authoring effort. In addition to talking about his book, Geddy spoke with MusicRadar about the "...10 bassists who blew my mind... ". Among the list of 10 was The Who's John Entwistle: “The Ox! Ever since I first heard My Generation right through to Won’t Get Fooled Again or The Real Me… he was quite possibly the greatest rock bassist of all time. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that. “He was a bass player’s bass player. He didn’t play guitar. He didn’t want to do anything other than play awesome bass. He had the dexterity; it was just so fluid, man… a pure joy to listen to. Plus, he could get that twangy tone out of almost any bass he played. Alex Lifeson Performs at the 2018 Andy Kim Christmas Concert

Last night, the 14th Annual Andy Kim Christmas Concert , which supports the CAMH Gifts Of Light Foundation , took place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on the Exhibition Grounds in Toronto. Alex Lifeson was one of many celebrities on hand for the benefit concert; his first such appearance since 2010. During the concert, Alex performed with Andy Kim on two of his hit songs: Rock Me Gently and Sugar Sugar . Later in the evening, Alex and also played two songs with Max Webster's Kim Mitchell; Lager & Ale as well as Battle Scar, a song Rush and Max Webster collaborated on back in 1980. Among the other artists that were on hand for the concert were Broken Social Scene, Billy Talent, Ron Sexsmith, Tom Cochrane, Hayden, Mary Margaret O'Hara, Bif Naked, Theo Tams and Peter and Leah of July Talk.
