Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson Hint at Surprise for Tonight’s Juno Awards
Update: The rumors were true! Rush opened up the Juno Awards ceremony with an energetic rendition of Finding My Way. Video of the performance is below while a photo gallery of the performance is available HERE.
As the 55th Annual Juno Awards prepare to take over the TD Coliseum tonight, the Canadian music industry is buzzing with one question: Will Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson make a surprise appearance?
Rush has sent the rumor mill into overdrive following a cryptic newsletter sent to fans this weekend. The message teased a "special moment" with the pair and included a direct link to purchase tickets for tonight's broadcast.
"We want to let you in on something," the band wrote in a newsletter to fans. "Celebrate a special moment with Geddy & Alex."
While the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences (CARAS) has not officially confirmed a performance, the timing aligns perfectly with the band's recent announcement of their "Fifty Something" 2026 reunion tour.
If Rush does takes the stage tonight, it could serve as the world's first look at their new lineup with drum virtuoso Anika Nilles. A "surprise" set tonight would be a poetic homecoming for the band, as Hamilton is just a short drive from their Toronto roots.
The awards ceremony will be broadcast live on YouTube via the CBC Music Channel. You can watch it directly at this LINK or below.
