Rush Announces "Fifty Something" Tour Proceeds Will Support Neil Peart Memorial

Rush Announces

In a moving tribute to their late bandmate, Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson have announced that a portion of the proceeds from Rush’s upcoming "Fifty Something" tour will be donated to the Neil Peart Memorial fund. The tour, which celebrates the band’s half-century legacy, serves as a dual celebration of their music and the enduring impact of their legendary drummer and primary lyricist.

The funds will directly support the ambitious commemorative project in Peart’s hometown of St. Catharines, Ontario, specifically at Lakeside Park, the site that inspired one of the band’s most beloved songs.

About the Memorial Project
Following Peart’s passing on January 7, 2020, the St. Catharines City Council and the community moved quickly to honor his memory. The project has evolved into a multi-phase tribute:

The Neil Peart Pavilion: In 2020, the city officially renamed the newly rebuilt pavilion at Lakeside Park in his honor.

Larger-Than-Life Sculptures: The Neil Peart Commemorative Task Force has commissioned artist Morgan MacDonald (The Newfoundland Bronze Foundry) to create two massive bronze sculptures. The first depicts Peart as a young artist in the 1970s, holding a book to signify his role as a lyricist and author. The second captures him in his later years, holding a piece of his drum kit.

An Immersive Experience: The two statues will be connected by a custom pathway. This walkway will feature experiential and interpretive elements designed to provide fans with a deeper look into Peart’s personal life, his professional career, and his decades-long journey with Rush.

By donating tour proceeds, the band joins a global community of fans and local residents working to reach the $1 million fundraising goal required to complete the installation. This gesture ensures that the "Lakeside Park" Peart immortalized in song will forever stand as a monument to his "life in music."
