Neil Peart has become the member of a
very exclusive "club" - the California Channel Islands
All Eight Club:
In 1994, California Channel Islands research historian, Marla Daily, founded the “All Eight Club” for people who have set foot on all eight of California’s Channel Islands. To be able to set foot on all eight of the California Channel Islands is not a simple task. Each of these islands requires very special visitation arrangements. Five of the eight California Channel Islands comprise Channel Islands National Park:
Santa Cruz Island
San Miguel Island
Santa Barbara Island
Santa Rosa Island
Anacapa Island
Two islands are controlled by the military:
San Clemente Island
San Nicolas Island
The eighth island, Santa Catalina Island, is run by the Santa Catalina Conservancy.
Last November, Neil visited the last of the eight islands - San Clemente Island, which solidified his membership into the exclusive club, which currently contains less than 200 members.
