Rush's R40 Box Set Certified GOLD by the RIAA
Back in November of 2014, Rush released their first video-centric box set titled R40. The box set included the band's previously released concert films Rush in Rio, R30, Snakes & Arrows Live, Time Machine: 2011 Live in Cleveland, and the Clockwork Angels Tour. It also came with over 2 hours of previously unreleased footage, as well as a 52-page book featuring rare band performance photos and an introduction by music journalist Martin Popoff.
Last month, The Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA) certified the box set GOLD in the Video category. The Gold status indicates sales of at least 50,000 units. Platinum status in the Video category is awarded after sales of 100,000 units. The last certification that Rush received came over 3 1/2 years ago when their Time Machine: 2011 Live in Cleveland video was also certified Gold.
Surprisingly, the band's R40 Live concert film and Time Stand Still documentary have yet to be certified.
