Rush News Bullets - 11/02/2012
The onslaught of Hurricane Sandy on the east coast of the U.S. and, in particular, New Jersey brought about a delay in the posting of notable Rush news stories over the past week. But as power and communications have slowly been restored, so too will the updates to the site.
With that said, here are a few stories to get everyone caught up with the latest happenings in the world of Rush:
Clockwork Angels Charting New: It's been twenty weeks since Clockwork Angels was released and the album continues to chart fairly well. According to the Billboard Top 200 Album Charts, Clockwork Angels is sitting at position #163 which is where it was last week as well. The album's longevity on the charts surpassed that of Rush's 2007 effort Snakes & Arrows which exited the Top 200 Album charts after its fifteenth week.
In related news, the latest single from Clockwork Angels, 'The Wreckers' is continuing to chart well in the Mainstream Rock Chart where it is currently sitting in the #6 spot.
New Rush-inspired Fine Art from Macrographs: UK-based artist Graham Whieldon has been creating Rush-inspired digital fine art for several years now. Graham launched his website Macrographs in connection with his first piece of Rush artwork which was based on the classic Rush song The Fountain of Lamneth. He later followed that up with a piece based on Red Barchetta.
Now, Graham has two new Rush themed prints. The first, titled Snow Dog:Snow Dog - standing guardian at the gate between Nether and Overworlds, haloed by the fizzing glow of the ever burning Northlight, eyes reflecting the volcanic fires that herald the approach of her sworn enemy - Prince By-Tor.
The second new print is based on 2112:2112 VIII - the Syrinx has fallen... the wheel comes around once more and the future repeats the past. The gigantic analogues lie toppled and silent, valves dark, ribbons of memory scattered like charred spiderweb.
Check out all of the prints along with ordering instructions at the Macrographs website.

ReplyDeleteSnow Dog is absolutely hilarious because he looks exactly like my 1 year old Bichon Penelope before she gets groomed. She has exactly the same underbite and short muzzle. Too cute! (which is not to say, of course, that the painting is not well done, because it is)
