Rush "Sectors" Box Set Production Problems Confirmed By Rush

Rush: Sectors Box Sets Coming November 21st
Since last month's release of Rush's "Sectors" Box Sets, a number of people have complained about apparent technical issues with the Fly By Night CD in Sector 1 and the A Farewell to Kings 5.1 DVD in Sector 2. Now, Rush has officially confirmed the issue with (some) details on how it will be rectified.

From Rush.Com:
"We are aware of some slight technical issues surrounding the CD of ‘Fly By Night’ inside the Sector 1 box set release and the DVD for ‘A Farewell To Kings’ inside the Sector 2 box set that some fans are experiencing. It stems from a production flaw and it is currently being addressed. As soon as production is completed a formal announcement of how to replace the discs will follow shortly. Please be aware that there may be a time delay in shipping and receiving the disc and we sincerely apologize for this inconvenience – Geddy, Alex & Neil"
It's obviously disappointing that these issues occurred, but having owned the box sets since they were released, I can tell you that I'm thrilled with them overall, and am happy (and of course not surprised) to learn that the band will make it right. We'll have more news as it becomes available.

  2. I found a hiccup on trk 5 of cd 1 in Sectors box 1, approx 3:07 into the song... so far. Sounds as tho some1 bumped into the record player. I'm going to return the whole box and wait for this mess to be fixed for good. What a kick in the balls!

  3. ik, that would be on "In The Mood"? Because I hear no such thing on mine. So what, EXACTLY, is supposed to be the problem? Maybe my RUSH trained ears just hasn't heard a problem yet, since I know all of this stuff by heart!

  4. The issue on FBN related to Beneath, Between, Behind. About 7 seconds in, the audio drops out slightly -- almost switching stereo sides in a way... Very slight issue, but noticeable if you are wearing headphones or listening on a system with significant stereo separation. Until I actually listened for this issue, knowing where to look, I never noticed it. It's that slight under 'normal' listening conditions (I'm sure I'll hear some gripes on that comment) :)

I have yet to identify the issue on AFTK however I'm just assuming it's something similar.
