It's hard to believe, but it's been 642 days since Rush exited the stage at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, ending their incredibly successful Clockwork Angels tour. And now, after a nearly two year absence, Rush will once again take the stage to celebrate their 40th (okay, 41st) Anniversary with the launch of their R40 Live 40th Anniversary Tour tonight.

The first leg of the 34 city/35 date tour will open at the Tulsa BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ahead of the show, Tulsa World has posted an article about opening night - Rush set to open 40th anniversary tour in Tulsa Friday.

As we've done in the past, Cygnus-X1.Net will be revealing the complete set list from tonight's show LIVE as it happens. To view the set list as it gets updated, click HERE. We'll also be posting pictures from the show as it happens as well. To view the photo gallery, please click HERE. Other news and updates from tonight's show will be posted on this page as the evening progresses.

As most fans know, the R40 tour is being billed as (possibly) the last major tour of its kind for Rush. Whether that statement is true or not, there is a growing campaign that is asking fans attending the shows to honor Alex, Geddy, and Neil in appreciation of all their hard work throughout the decades. The campaign, dubbed HOLD THE RED STAR PROUDLY HIGH IN HAND, is asking the following:
Download the Red Star image on this page (click for a larger version), or a similar one, to your phone, and when the guys come back on stage after intermission, hold your phone in the air towards the stage and display the Red Star, proudly! I'm sure Lerxst, Dirk and Pratt would be happy to walk out to an arena FULL of glowing Red Stars. If you think it's a good idea, PASS THE WORD and SHARE! #holdtheredstarappreciationcampaign -Michael Mark
A great idea that will hopefully gain steam as the tour progresses.

For all of you heading to Tulsa for the show tonight, be safe, enjoy, and please share your pictures and comments!

  1. Wishing all my fellow RUSH-ians a great time tonight in Tulsa, and throughout the R40 Tour!! Please remember to "HOLD THE RED STAR PROUDLY HIGH IN HAND" as the guys come back out on stage after intermission. Let's show 'em a universal sign of LOVE, respect and admiration for all their hard work over these many years. [Thanks to John and Cygnus-x1.net for the mention and push on the campaign] Hope to see some of you friends in Tampa on the 24th of May!

  14. 13.5 hours to go 'til the St. Louis show, where I've caught them passing through every time over the last three decades. Sad that this may well be the last time, but stoked as hell to hear all of these songs played one more time.

  15. I like the red star idea but what about during Jacob's Ladder instead of after the intermission? Geddy gave the crowd a big salute after JL in Atlanta.
