Rush Clockwork Angels Tour Update: First Leg Complete
Rush have just completed the first leg of their Clockwork Angels Tour after performing at the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada last night. The band will now take a ten-day break before resuming the tour on October 10th at the Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The band will then continue throughout the East Coast of the U.S. and Canada during October before their next break during the first week of November.
By all accounts, the tour has been a rousing success. Fans and critics alike have been dazzled by the band's performance which has been highlighted by some incredible lighting and pyrotechnic effects. The addition of the string ensemble to the tour has also been met with great enthusiasm while the nightly adjustments to the set lists have provided a sense of spontaneity that arguably has been absent from the most recent Rush tours.
Some fantastic photos from nearly every show are available on the Tour Dates page. Please contact me if you'd like to donate some of your own tour pictures.

I don't know if I would say that the setlist has been greeted with great enthusiasm. In fact, it's been a source of great debate. Many are not too psyched on the 80's heavy tunes being banged out on the keyboards.
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired of hearing people complain about the setlist. I don't think anyone takes the time to think about how much Geddy's voice can or can't take anymore. I think they're trying to stay with songs that he won't have to strain so much on which is just fine by me. Even Neil doing 3 small solos rather than 1 long one is a sign of the times and the toll it's taking on the band. I'm just glad they're still putting out great music and I'm able to go see them.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Scott. Every date they play is a gift. Every album, every song. One should first appreciate the fact of what Rush has been able to do – consistently – for four decades before overly criticizing them. But hey, everyone is entitled to their opinion. :)
DeleteI think Rush is the best band of the world, but everybody knows that 1975-1983 period is the golden age of this guys. I can´t undestand why some people resist to recognize that all the albums after grace under pressure (with the exception of roll the bones, counterparts,<test for Echo , snakes & Arrows, And Clockwork angels)are under that level.
DeleteThe problem , especially with G.Lee , is that this guys , try to change the opinion of the people and insist with the bad albums.
Every body prefers a Passage to Bangkok or Natural Science ,than Territories or Presto.
